For the first trimester, the 7th grade expedition is entitled, "When Cultures Collide". We will delve into migration, push and pull factors and discuss in depth why people move from place to place. Our studies will include interviewing Columbus middle schoolers who have immigrated here from all over the world. We will then focus on West Africa from ancient times to a case study on Cape Verde. Our expedition will culminate with a final product that will be sent to Cape Verde, Africa to help the school children there learn English which is integral to their economy.
